Boston University College of Engineering Research: Autonomous Robotics & Hybrid Systems |
Assistant Professor Calin Belta (Mechanical Engineering) and his research team discuss autonomous robotics, control theory and hybrid systems.
Belta’s research involves the study of monitoring and controlling robotics “swarms.” The small automated robots, or “swarm,” have applications in mapping, and military and fire search-and-rescue missions. Recent funding from the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Air Force Young Investigators Program will allow Belta and his team to develop architectures to control and coordinate these missions.
